Resident Care Assistant/Caregiver (Part-time) Part-time Job

Position Title: Resident Care Assistant/Home Health Aide

Overview: In the role of a Resident Care Assistant/Home Health Aide with Home Care Department, it is the responsibility of this individual to provide personal care services to residents in the home setting while maintaining a home-like environment that is clean, safe, and orderly for Agency Clients. The performance of duties within this position is in accordance with CORE Values of The Village. This position reports to the Home Care Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs all personal care activities (bathing, dressing, toileting/incontinence, shaving with electric razor, oral care) contained in a written plan of care developed by a licensed health care professional employee or contractor of the home health agency.
• Maintains a clean, safe and healthy environment for Clients. (i.e.; light cleaning, washing dishes, laundry [including ironing], care of pets, maintaining client appointments, medication reminders, etc.).
• Documents and submits accurate Weekly Care Notes.
• Confirms schedule weekly using an electronic scheduling and communication system that can be accessed from any mobile device or computer.
• Checks in and out for every assigned shift using the client’s home telephone or designated phone.
• Maintains confidentiality of Client, family and facility information.
• May provide transportation for clients as needed depending on shift hired for.
• Provides quality customer service in all interactions with clients, residents, guests and The Village staff.
• Responsible for executing instructions in client’s Plan of Care.
• Responds to all fire alarms and assist in the evacuation of residents when needed.
• Responds to emergencies according to the needs of the client, including obtaining a 911 response, and in compliance with the Agency Emergency Management Plan.

You Have:

• CPR and First Aid Certification or eligible.
• Must have telephone or other means of communicating with the facility from home (i.e. computer, telephone or cell phone). Must provide up-date contact information to the department (i.e. changes in phone numbers or emergency contact information).
• Depending on shift hired for, must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of six (6) years and must maintain it in “good standing.”
• Must have reliable transportation for travel to and between clients within Alachua County, Florida.
