About us:

5 Star Cares provides support to individuals who have developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities to live a meaningful life in both home and community settings. We do this through a focus on Person-Centered practices.

We specialize in providing care to patients that have intellectual and developmental disabilities with moderate to severe nursing needs. We provide 24-hour nursing care by our professional staff with a variety of medical needs. We provide the same level of care as an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Some of our patients receive care for g/j-tubes, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), ventilator care, and Diabetes. Our ownership team is health care providers and is focused on addressing issues within the healthcare system. We have low patient-to-staff ratios of 1:2 in most cases and we are considered a less restrictive environment than a nursing home or an ICF. Our patients range in age is from 10 years to 90+ years, requiring 24-hour nursing care.

What You’ll Do at 5 Star Cares

Provide Critical & Intensive Care

Physical Setting: Acute care & Long-term care

License:

HHA

BLS / CPR card (Required)

Requirement:

Great skills working with people.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must possess excellent documentation skills.

Must be willing to help individuals with activities of daily living to include daily hygiene, feeding, exercise, etc.

Must be a team player

Must be able to speak and write in English

Must be dependable

First Aid and CPR certified

Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or mental illness is preferred

Demonstrated skills in the use of standard medical equipment (Bedside commodes, wheelchairs, shower chairs etc.)
