Job Description: Medication Technician
Exemplary care and comfort is an important part of every resident’s day at Providence Senior Living. As a Medications Technician you play a critical role in how each resident may receive that care and to help us fulfill our goal of creating the best day possible.
Duties:
- Provide care that follows a personalized medication and treatment service plan.
- Administer or assist with the administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider and observe/report responses to your supervisor.
- May also provide care and assistance with the functions of daily living, including but not limited to dressing, bathing, walking, and feeding.
- Maintain residents’ health and medication records and resident charts by timely documenting any changes in health, incidents, and observation of unusual occurrences.
- Assist with Resident care
- Assit with activities
- Respond quickly to emergencies and follow Providence Senior Living guidelines for reporting events
- Maintain resident confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with all staff, residents, and their families
- Assist with training of new Medication Technicians
- Assist community in maintaining all public, staff and residential areas
- Wear appropriate PPE throughout shift as regulated by CDC and local regulatory guidelines
- Adhere to an updated State or Federal Regulations, including but not limited to COVID and other Infectious Virus and Disease procedures
- Complete all require training and in-service recertification
- Safety is an important part of the Providence Living culture, as such, all policies and procedures for workplace safety must be observed while on property
Requirements:
- Must be certified based on state regulations and training.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner and to be able to carefully follow written and oral instructions.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification a plus
- Prior work experience in geriatric, nursing, assisted living, memory care or similar environment preferred
- Ability to be on his/her feet for prolonged periods
- Ability to push, pull, lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Self-motivated with good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Leads by example exhibiting the core values through servant leadership.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with elderly.
- Must demonstrate the ability or work responsibility, as a team member as well as an individual
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality, and the rights and privacy of others.

Qualifications:
- Six months prior experience in a senior care environment is preferred.
- Ability to lead by example exhibiting our core values through servant leadership.

- Honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality, and the rights and privacy of others.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and general public.

- Must be 18 years of older.
- Ability to comply with Providence Living grooming standards as stated in the employee handbook, including, but not limited to body piercings and tattoos.
- Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Check as required by state regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
