Job Details

The responsibility of a Sales Counselor is to contribute to the success of the community by coordinating sales in an effort to achieve the highest possible occupancy. The Sales Counselor also serves as a resource to disseminate information to the public regarding the community.

Essential Functions

  • Effectively communicate benefits of resident care and touring community grounds with prospective residents.
  • Receive walk-in visitors, and conducting and completing sales calls to increase community occupancy and revenue.
  • Respond to calls and inquiries from prospective residents, their families and their advisors; provide information, answer questions, overcome objections and close sales.
  • Review levels of care needed and discuss options with prospective residents.
  • Review sales material with prospective residents to include service fees, financial agreements and refund policies.
  • Obtain all qualifying information from prospective resident or initial visit, recording information on initial inquiry form.
  • Adhere to The Estates at Carpenters’ policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Maintain confidentiality and respects resident’s privacy at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Demonstrates the values of The Estates at Carpenters: integrity, stewardship, compassion, community, excellence, dignity, and service.
  • Attends and participates in orientation, training and educational activities as required.
  • Business formal dress is required, while following appropriate dress and uniform policies and guidelines.
  • Must be able to maintain consistent attendance as per job requirements and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience

  • High School diploma or the equivalent. A minimum of one (3) years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience. Senior living sales experience preferred, especially sales experience in a continuing care retirement community.
  • Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products and services.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Active listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Time management – managing one’s own time and the time of others.

Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the mandated criminal background checks.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass the pre-employment reference checks.
  • Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
  • Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
  • Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 in order to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $37,440.00 per year
