Companion/Caregiver 7am to 4pm Full-time Job

Description of role:

Provides clients with assistance and companionship while recognizing clients’ individual needs and encourages independence.

Winslin is in search of EXPERIENCED and PROFESSIONAL Companions who understand the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life and independence. We are looking for committed individuals who have OUTSTANDING communication skills and are compassionate about working with the elderly. Our Companions have a reputation for being cheerful and receptive as they're integrated into our client's life.

Tasks:

• Serves meals to clients, May assist in preparing meals. Encourages clients to eat a proper diet and take adequate fluids while respecting the client's right to free choice. Records and reports changes in client's eating habits to.
• Initiates and participates in leisure activities. Encourages clients to socialize and participate in planned activities or programs and to develop friendships.
• Maintains clients' records daily in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedures.This includes documentation related to: medication reminders as applicable; leisure activities; incidents and observations; reporting any changes in client's physical condition and/or behavior; visitors; etc. Observes and reports the health and emotional condition of each client, and promptly reports all changes to the supervisor.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment for the clients. Performs general housekeeping, laundry, bedrooms, dining area, living space, bathrooms, kitchen, etc.
• Follows proper procedures in emergency situations and responds promptly and positively to client requests for assistance - telephone calls, and requests from family and friends.
• Knows location of each client, notifies the supervisor immediately if unable to locate a client.
• Attends and participates in required training.
• On occasion may request driving for outings, appointments, ETC.
• Ensure highest client safety and well-being

Skills and requirements:

1.Reliable transportation.

2.Great work ethic and attitude,Takes the initiative to get things done without being asked.

3.Can Pass a level 2 and drug test.

4. Knowledge and experience with Alzheimer's and dementia not required but a plus.

5.Current and valid first aid and CPR certification

6.Experience working with the elderly

7.Impeccable written and oral communication skills

*We are also looking for companions with special Skills or hobbies to highlight. (example Sewing, painting, etc.)

*Also looking for Certified companion animals.

*Bilingual is a plus.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred

2 hour Alzheimer's certification

1 hour AIDS and HIV certification

Auto insurance (If applicable)

Social Security Card, or other ID that showing you're authorized to work in the US

Please keep in mind that schedules are based on clients and their needs, shifts include anything from 2 hours to 24 hour care.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
