Maintenance Technician

We are a Faith-Based Long-Term, Short-Term nursing care facility. We also offer independent living and assisted living apartments. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician.

Maintenance Tech Job Summary:

• Assure that maintenance schedules are followed at all times.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, etc., as directed, in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain equipment in laundry, kitchen, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedule, keeping records of completed inspections.
• Replace burned out light bulbs in all facility areas as necessary.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
• Makes sure maintenance requisitions are completed.
• May be required to perform the duties of a Security Guard on a temporary or as needed basis.
• As scheduled, comply with on-call maintenance schedule for response to call 24 hours a day.

Maintenance Tech Work Conditions:

• Works in all areas of the facility.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities.
• Is involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc.
• Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
• Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holiday, as well as in other positions as needed.
• Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
• May be required to work in cramped spaces and in adverse weather conditions.

Maintenance Tech Qualifications:

• High School or vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Proof of COVID19 Vaccination Required.
• Courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, drywall or building trades preferred.
• Three years experience in building maintenance.
• Demonstrated independent contracting experience in general repairs considered.
• Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
