Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the preparation of food in the community. Ensure that all meals are presented according to Hampton Manor’s standards.
Dietary aides will spend most of their work shifts on their feet and walking around performing various tasks. During day-to-day activities, a dietary aide might have to lift up to 50 pounds in food supplies and other goods. Working in the kitchen setting means extreme temperature changes, from excessive heat in the cooking area to freezing temperatures in walk-in freezers.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Must have at least a High School Degree.
- Dietary aids will have to participate in training and continuing education courses.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with dining services.
- Working along with the dietary manager to prepare meals.
- Assist in clean up including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, kitchen maintenance, and setting up and taking down the dining areas.
- Other job duties include delivering food to residents’ rooms when necessary.
- Preparing and serving snacks.
- Taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
- Be knowledgeable on the protocols and procedures for Hampton Manor Assisted Living, as well as the rules and regulations for the state of Florida.
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Customer service attitude
- Must be able to produce a negative TB test result.
- Must pass all Federal, State, and Local Level 2 background screening.
